Congratulations to theGrand Champion Woodhick from Bark Peelers’ Festival 2019: Ben Barner
Ben Barner of Richfield, PA, was once again crowned the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum “Grand Champion Woodhick” during the 45th Annual Bark Peelers’ Festival, held on July 6 and 7, 2019. Ben was one of two grand champions in 2018 after that contest resulted in a tie. He also won the title in 2016. In 2019, Ben placed 1st in the Greased Pole, Log Rolling and Crosscut Saw competitions and 4th in the birling competition.

The Bark Peelers’ Festival grease pole, log rolling, crosscut saw, and birling competitions are open to anyone 16 years of age or older. Along with individual cash prizes, points for placing in each event are awarded as follows: 1st Place- 5 points, 2nd Place- 4 points, 3rd Place- 3 points, 4th Place- 2 points. Every contestant gets 1 point just for entering the contest. In the event of a tie in points/ times, winners are determined by the earliest entry for each event based on the order of the sign-up sheet. All contestants must complete a waiver of liability before participating.
