“PALMA” stands for Pennsylvania Lumber Museum Associates. All the historic sites and museums in the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission rely on their own individual support groups to help carry out the organization’s mission. PALMA helps the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in numerous ways. Associate volunteers staff the Museum during specific days of operation. The group hosts special events throughout the year, such as the annual Bark Peelers’s Convention and the Spring and Fall Heritage Days antique shows. The organization raises money to support the Museum’s collections, programs and site improvements. PALMA members donate their time, talent and expertise on a weekly basis. The organization is open to anyone who is interested in lumber history and the activities of the Museum. Local residency is not a requirement.
