The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum has never been a destination accessible to snowmobiles- until now! This special, LIMITED TIME route will only be available to riders over President’s Day weekend- Friday February 17th through Sunday February 19th, 2017. The route will lead from the west side of Thompson Hollow Road, south of Rt. 6 in the Susquehannock State Forest. Wayfinding signs will be placed along the route. Riders will be required to cross Route 6 to enter the museum property, so please use extreme caution and watch for oncoming traffic. Riders will proceed up the hill to the museum visitor center building along the margin of the paved entrance road, and may park their machines in the open area next to the parking lot. Riding on other portions of the museum grounds is prohibited. Once inside, coffee, tea and hot cocoa will be available in the program room. The museum will also be showing a number of documentary films throughout the weekend; films that relate to our mission of educating the public about the Commonwealth’s rich lumbering history and the ongoing care, management and recreational use of the forest (of which snowmobiling is one). If you have any questions or would like to verify snow conditions, please call the museum at 814-435-2652. Thanks!
