Student Tours

Critical thinking and historical empathy are two of the many benefits of visiting a museum. Historical empathy, sensitivity to what life was like for people who lived in a different time and place, is honed on a tour of the historic lumber camp. Being observant is an important skill that students practice when they are introduced to a new tool or trail. Our staff is able and ready to get students excited about history and natural science!

Admission for K-12 students is $3 per student. Chaperones and bus drivers are free (so long as they do not outnumber the students).

Admission for college and graduate students is $5 per student. Professors and chaperones are free (so long as they do not outnumber the students).

Scout Tours

Admission for scouts is $5 per scout. Leaders and assistants are free (so long as leaders/assistants do not outnumber the scouts). If a group is interested the museum is happy to try and coordinate having a DCNR Forester meet with the scouts to discuss and explore our state forests on the Sustainable Forestry Trail.
