Dutch-Oven Cooking Demonstration & Tasting

Sunday May 20th, starting at 1 Pm

 

This program is being offered as part of the museum’s reoccurring “3rd Sunday” educational program series. Please join us as we welcome PALMA members John and Jan Halter for an afternoon of delicious activities. The Halters will be demonstrating a variety of Dutch-oven cooking techniques and recipes (many of which are taken from the Pennsylvania Trails of History Cookbook, available for purchase in the museum gift shop). They will also delve into the history of this style of cooking and talk about the proper care and handling of cast iron cookware. Small samples of the recipes they are preparing will be available to taste. Please bring your cast iron questions and your appetite to the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum picnic pavilion on Sunday May 20th for this fun-foodways event.
