Community Day at the PA Lumber Museum is happening on Saturday May 5, 2018. Admission to the museum and the day’s activities is FREE to the public. A variety of special events are planned, including historic trade demonstrations in the logging camp, guided forestry walks on the museum’s Sustainable Forestry Trail, and a 5-mile group hike along the state forest trails surrounding the museum. Community-based agencies and organizations will have information stations set-up in the program room where they can spread awareness and interact with the public. Food and drink will be available for purchase. This event is a way to say thank you to the many individuals and organizations in the community who work to ensure the success and prosperity of the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum throughout the year.  Please join us and learn about new ways that you can get involved in your community!

Foresters from Susquehannock State Forest will lead guided walks along the museum’s Sustainable Forestry Trail from the Route 6 rest area next to the museum entrance beginning at 10:30 Am and 3:30 Pm. The Susquehannock Trail Club will begin their 5 mile group hike outside of the museum visitor center at 1:00 Pm. Blacksmithing and historic trade demonstrations will take place throughout the day in the logging camp. Food and drink will be available for purchase between 9 Am and 5 Pm in the museum program room. Please call 814-435-2652 if you have any questions. We hope to see you again this year; and be sure to tell your friends about this great FREE event!
